SPREADSHEET: Project, Profit and Efficiency Tracking (Excel) image

Track the editing projects you work on, the profit you make from them, and how efficiently you work.

In this Excel spreadsheet, prewritten formulas work out how much you’ve earned per thousand words, how many words you’ve edited per hour, and how much you’ve earned per hour. (Works with all currencies.)

This data will help you assess the health of your business, price future projects, and work out ways to increase your efficiency.

It’s not a huge and complicated spreadsheet. Instead, it’s quick and easy to fill out, giving you the essential information you need.

(Note: The spreadsheet is designed for projects with a pre-determined fee. It won’t work out a project fee based on an hourly rate, for instance.)
